1. Introduction
ORYN Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”), developed by HamedMohammed, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use BookAPT, our mobile and web application (“App”, “BookAPT”, “the Service”), as well as our websites and software products (collectively, the “Services”).
BookAPT is a smart appointment booking platform developed by HamedMohammed and operated by ORYN Inc. This Privacy Policy applies to the BookAPT mobile application (Google Play Store and Apple App Store), the BookAPT web app at bookapt.io, and related services.
By using BookAPT or our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Required for account creation: name and email. Optional: phone number and full address (street, city, state/province, zipcode/postal code, country). We also collect information automatically (device info, usage data) and, when you provide it, location-related data.
Location Data Collection
Address and zipcode/postal code are optional. If you choose to provide them, you consent to our use of that data as described below.
When you provide zipcode/postal code or address, we use it for:
- Business Search: We use your zipcode to convert it to geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) using geocoding services to help you find nearby businesses and services
- Third-Party Services: We share your zipcode (converted to coordinates) with Foursquare Places API to search for businesses near your location that may not yet be registered on BookAPT
- Service Improvement: Location data helps us personalize your experience and show relevant businesses in your area
You can update or delete your location information at any time through your Profile Settings.
Geocoding Services: We use third-party geocoding services (Nominatim/OpenStreetMap and optionally Google Geocoding API) to convert your zipcode to coordinates. These services process your zipcode but do not receive other personal information.
Foursquare API: We use Foursquare Places API to search for businesses. When you search for businesses, your zipcode (converted to coordinates) is sent to Foursquare to find nearby businesses. Foursquare’s use of this data is governed by their privacy policy.
